Switchgear Committee, HVCB Quality & Reliability WG met in Charleston
on 2001-06-21.
Meeting attended by 12 members and 10 guests.  Several other members were unable to attend due to
participation in Common Clauses WG.
C37.10.1
IEEE Guide for selecting monitoring of circuit breakers is now published
in .pdf format and will soon be available in print format.
A working group pa</span><span class="Normal--Char" style=" font-family: 'Arial', 'Arial';
">per to promote C37.10.1 will be submitted to IEEE for publication
in IEEE PES transactions.
C37.10-1995,
IEEE Guide for Diagnostics and Failure Investigation of Power Circuit
Breakers will be submitted for reaffirmation using electronic balloting.
NETA wil</span><span class="TOC-00202--Char" style=" font-family: 'Arial', 'Arial';
">l submit draft guides for maintenance testing of HV bulk oil, air
blast circuit and SF6 circuit breakers to IEEE HVCB Q&R for comments.
NETA (Alan Peterson) discussed the intent and requirements of ANSI/NETA-ETT
2000 (Electrical Test Technician) certificat</span><span class="Normal--Char" style=" font-family: 'Arial', 'Arial';
">ion program.
The WG made the decision to explore the need for an IEEE Guide for
Content of Circuit Breaker Instruction Manuals.  The purpose is
to consolidate and standardize manufacturers instruction book information
to facilitate user access to this info</span><span class="Normal--Char" style=" font-family: 'Arial', 'Arial';
">rmation.  It is seen as a several page document that would be
inserted at the front of an instruction manual designated for a specific
circuit breaker.
John Brunke (CIGRE) requires a convener and participants in the 3</span><span
class="Normal--Char" style=" font-family: 'Arial', 'Arial';"><sup>rd International
Survey of Switchgear p</span><span class="Normal--Char" style=" font-family: 'Arial', 'Arial';
">erformance that will include circuit breakers and air switches.
