VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Title/Position #/Grade: Location: Technical Operations Manager/Position #36114/FR School of Filmmaking North Carolina School of the Arts 1533 S. Main St. Winston-Salem/Forsyth Co $25, 000 - $29,900 Budgeted Salary: Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the overall technical support of the production aspects of the School of Filmmaking curriculum. This position requires extensive knowledge of basic video and film camera operation. In particular the position requires knowledge of digital video, 16 and Super 16mm film camera systems, and related gear. The position is responsible for establishing a technical support infrastructure, policies, procedures, and related systems to support the instruction of the School of Filmmaking. The position must interface with key vendors, suppliers, technical personnel and entities in the ongoing acquisition, installation and maintenance of production support technology. The position also leads basic instructional efforts relating to student, faculty, and staff training on production technology. The position supervises the technical office of the School and supervises the documentation of technical support and use of technology throughout the instructional and production process. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: development and implementation of systems to acquire, maintain, disperse and track film and video equipment in support of the school's instructional and production programs and activities; coordination of equipment use by students and faculty; research of technology-related acquisitions in support of production and instruction; implementation of inventory control systems, insurance protection and inventory tracking systems related to school production equipment needs; general technical support of instructional activities and productions; establishment of equipment use procedures by students, faculty and staff; documentation of equipmentrelated policies and procedures; implementation of equipment testing, evaluation and inspection procedures. This position also supervises one employee. Requirements: The position requires at a minimum a two-year Associate Degree in technology and/or engineering and/or equipment repair and maintenance, or equivalent educational/professional experience. The position requires an advanced knowledge of audiovisual technology and the hardware and software currently being utilized in the film and video production environment.
