Standard 1 History of Television and its Role in Mass Media

wireless, early radio and television.

Standard 3 Video Camera Operations and Functions

Goal 1 Demonstrates Knowledge of Video Cameras
The student will demonstrate knowledge of both field and studio video cameras
including characteristics of lenses.


1 Demonstrates Proper Use of the Videocamera Essential
The student will be able to power up video cameras, use zoom and focus
controls, white balance of camera, and be familiar with gain settings, f-stop
adjustments and lens focal length choice.


2 Demonstrate Proper Use of Camera Essential
The student will recognize the camera body, viewfinder, lens and the controls
associated with their use.

The student will be familiar with different video recording formats and images
processing.

The student will demonstrate use of video cameras with various supporting mounts.


1 Demonstrates Use of Video Equipment Essential
The student will demonstrate how to mount video cameras on a tripod,
monopod or dolly.

The student will identify different video cables and connectors

The student will identify RCA, BNC, RF, SVHS connectors, adapters and
cables.


Standard 4 Camera Composition and Movement

Goal 1 Demonstrates Concepts of Camera Composition
The student will demonstrate the concepts of camera composition and basic camera
shots.


1 Demonstrates Appropriate Shots Essential
The student will demonstrate appropriate framing of shots, including correct
leadroom and headroom, extreme close ups, close ups, medium shot, long shot,
and group shots.


2 Demonstrates Camera Movement Essential
The student will demonstrate camera movement, including zoom, pan, tilt,
dolly, truck arc, and pedestal.
